BUX Launches IPOs And Other Capital Raisings For Retail Investors
BUX has adopted PrimaryBid’s capital markets platform as part of the neobroker’s mission to make investing more accessible and offer retail investors new opportunities.
By becoming the first pan-European partner of PrimaryBid, the subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank NV is enabling retail investors in the Netherlands and Belgium to have access to IPOs and other regulated capital raisings, including deals that were previously only available to institutional investors.
PrimaryBid’s solution, which is already available in France, has helped over 30 SMEs raise capital from retail investors over the past three years.
IPOs available to retail investors in the Netherlands and Belgium
Retail investors in the Netherlands and Belgium can now access stock market capital-raising offers through BUX.
Since 2018, PrimaryBid has partnered with Euronext, the leading pan-European exchange linking European economies to global markets. This latest agreement advances their shared objective of increasing retail investor engagement in financial markets.
This initiative follows the recent EU Listing Act, which eases capital-raising rules in Europe and broadens retail participation by lifting investment limits on follow-on offerings. The new legislation, effective later this year, allows BUX and ABN AMRO to enhance the competitiveness of European capital markets.
“For too long, access to stock market offerings has been limited to institutional investors”
Yorick Naeff, CEO of BUX: “For too long, access to stock market offerings has been limited to institutional investors. Our partnership with PrimaryBid is therefore an important step towards a more level playing field. This partnership will offer retail investors the opportunity to participate in various opportunities for raising capital on the stock market. This will allow us to help retail investors shape their financial future. At BUX, we are committed to democratizing investing, and this partnership supports our mission to make investing accessible to everyone. In addition, this is essential for financing the economy and contributing to economic resilience in Europe.”
Francois De Wiljes, Head of PrimaryBid SA: “These two technology-driven companies share a pan-European vision, and this collaboration between BUX and PrimaryBid is therefore a logical next step. I am convinced that together we can replicate the success we have seen in France in new markets, starting with the Netherlands and Belgium.”
René van Vlerken, CEO of Euronext Amsterdam: “Since 2018, we have been working with PrimaryBid to provide retail investors with access to exchanges across Europe. The partnership between BUX and PrimaryBid will open up even more opportunities for issuing shares and will strengthen cross-border retail participation in the public markets, especially now that the EU Listing Act is coming into force.”
Paul Huysmans, Head of Equity Capital Markets at ABN AMRO : “We believe in broadening access to capital markets and involving retail investors where possible. This partnership will create value for clients and retail investors. ABN AMRO is proud to accelerate innovation in capital markets and is committed to supporting the collaboration between BUX and PrimaryBid.”
